Passports

Micronations and their passports have had a turbulent history. From Sealand's passports being used as camouflage for heinous crimes, to people paying hundreds of dollars for a single passport, to the micronation next door taking a pocketbook and laminating some information they've run off and old inkjet and laminated and calling them both a 'passport'.
Not having hundreds of dollars nor a complete lack of pride, we Bokontonians wanted our passports to be freely available to each one of our Citizens. Free, if possible. But we also wanted high-quality, and yet again we decided to take our influence from the Kingdom of Lovely.
In the TV series that ran alongside the nation's founding, Danny is given flags, flag patches passports etc. that have been designed for him. His passport isn't the most majestic, featuring his signature IMPACT font and his flag on the front, and it's not the most high-quality either. But it's designed well and is accessible, and that's what we want.
So, without further ado, we present to you our very own passports. Issued to Citizens only, they are, in fact, available over at the 'Citizens Only' part of our site.

New Site Design and Banner

As some may have noticed lately, our new Site Design and Banner have been undergoing some subtle (and not-so-subtle) tweaks lately.
We have finally arrived at a wonderful site banner design that we feel works beautifully for our site and separates it from the 'micronational norm' of either plain badly-designed, stock images galore, or a banner that is stark and only using goverment-designed work fit to bust with crests and flag colours, like a corporational mockery.
Obviously, this isn't poking fun at any particular micronationalists, just first-attempt sites and micronational sites in general- as said before, bokonton.org certainly fit into this category for a while, at both ends of the spectrum, may we add.
So, without further ado, we would like to 'officially' announce our new site look.
As our nation changes and grows, we would like to think our image does too. But for now, we are more than satisfied by our "Woah! That is one seriously impressive graphic!"* response that our new site evokes from our watchers and friends!
If anyone has any further ideas, criticisms or praise (we hope) of our 'New Look', you can get in touch with us at
BNScomments@bokonton.org

-
*- George Cruickshank

New Format for the BNS

For a while, the BNS has been dormant, due to the extremely unsuccessful choice to start of by trying to shoehorn the BNS' content into a 'print-friendly' PDF/image format. This has been near impossible, and access to such files etc has been so minimal that we are in possession of over 10 issues that were produced too late to be relevant and so were filed away and left.
So, until the situation can be rectified- as this format is preferable, a blog-format does not a newspaper make- the BNS will be housed here.
The news and content are more important than the format for the time being.
Valetido!
