Is Bokonton a real country?!
To cut a long story short... Yes. Bokonton, like most other micronations, is as a sovereign, independent nation within the territory of the United Kingdom (Cornwall, to be exact). It exists as a state within a state, a bit like 'The Vatican', which has it's own crazy laws, even though it isn't a 'proper' country. We exercise sovereignty over our own territory - and over the embassies, and have our own laws, customs and land.
How do I become a Bokontonian Citizen?
Applying for Citizenship is easy, but (Permanent) Residency is not. Apply here to become a Citizen or (optionally) claim your land as an embassy by sending us a photo of it with A Bokontonian flag merrily flying outside it ! see here.

Yes, and they are sort of like 'protection' paid to the UK to stop them for declaring war on us. We are good, but not that good.
